How to Win the Spiritual Battle to Expand God’s Kingdom

Reading Time: 5 minutes

As Christians, we are called to do something very specific: to combat the rule of Satan and expand God’s kingdom on Earth. The world we live in is still a physical place, and until Jesus returns to establish His kingdom, the influence of Satan is shaping the world. At any given time, the world either reflects Satan’s will or God’s will. Our mission is to ensure that the world is aligned with God’s plan, not the enemy’s.

The Battle Between Spiritual Realms

The world is a physical adjacent to the spiritual world of heaven, and while they are separate now, Satan is continuously trying to influence the spiritual realm to gain more territory in the physical world. As I discussed in a previous post, Satan’s power comes from his ability to influence humans. He can’t act alone—he needs us to carry out his will. That’s where we, as Christians, come in. Our role is to resist Satan, resist our flesh, and align ourselves with God’s purpose for our lives.

But what does that look like in practice?

Expanding God’s Kingdom in Everyday Life

Expanding God’s kingdom is about more than just big, sweeping actions. It shows up in our daily lives and decisions. It begins with understanding God’s will for us and living it out in every area of our lives, whether that’s in our work, in our homes, or in our relationships.

Take the entertainment industry, for example. Movies and media can either reflect Satan’s vision or God’s. People in positions of influence—directors, actors, writers—have the choice to either propagate a demonic narrative or to create content that aligns with God’s truth. Similarly, in the workplace, whether you’re a software engineer, a teacher, or a police officer, your actions and decisions can either expand God’s kingdom or serve Satan’s agenda.

Even in our personal relationships, we can either draw people closer to God or further away. The way we interact with our neighbors, how we show kindness, honesty, fairness, and respect can serve as a reflection of God’s love and will. These small, consistent actions build the kingdom of God and reflect His values in the world.

Living in Alignment with God’s Will

In my own family, we live by five core values: being kind, honest, fair, respectful, and handling our business. These principles are not just about following a moral code, but about reflecting our identity in Christ. Everything we do is a result of surrendering our will to God’s. We don’t act based on our own desires, but in obedience to God’s vision for our lives.

When we make decisions, whether big or small, we pray about them and ask God for guidance. For example, let’s say I won the lottery. While the money could be a blessing, I know that I must remain obedient to God’s will for how I use it. If God tells me to give it away in a specific way, I will obey because my mission is to expand His kingdom, not to serve my own desires.

This same principle applies in every area of life. Men, how are you leading your families in a God-fearing way? Women, how are you supporting and building up your households in alignment with God’s will? Whether you’re raising children, managing a household, or working in your profession, we are all called to seek God’s vision and follow His direction.

Serving with Purpose

As we go about our daily lives, we must remember that our ultimate purpose is to expand God’s kingdom. Whether you are a teacher, a firefighter, a doctor, or a politician, you have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the world. By serving well and staying in tune with God’s guidance, we are able to expand His territory on Earth. Our goal is to prepare the world for Jesus’ return, when heaven will merge with earth, and God’s kingdom will reign forever.

Resisting Satan’s Influence

The more we listen to our flesh, the more we expand Satan’s territory. Every action, thought, and decision we make either brings us closer to God’s will or further from it. By resisting Satan and aligning ourselves with God’s plan, we are participating in the spiritual battle to establish God’s kingdom on Earth.

So, let us remain vigilant, surrender our desires to God, and pray for His guidance as we seek to expand His kingdom. The world needs more Christians living out God’s will, shining His light in the darkness, and standing firm against the influence of the enemy. Let’s commit to being part of the solution, working to make the world a place that reflects God’s love, truth, and power.

Conclusion: Expanding God’s Kingdom

In everything we do, we must ask ourselves: Are we expanding God’s kingdom? Are we living in alignment with His will? As Christians, we are not called to walk our own individual path, but to walk together, in unity, expanding God’s kingdom on Earth. Let us be obedient to His call, reflect His truth in all we do, and remain vigilant against the forces of evil that seek to influence our lives. Together, we can prepare the world for Jesus’ return, building a kingdom that reflects His love and glory.
